Concessions for borrowers

TBI Bank joins the common measures regarding the COVID-19 pandemic announced by the Bulgarian National Bank and in accordance with the instructions of the European Banking Authority. Our objective is to maintain a stable, reliable and secure financial system. We express our readiness to cooperate in a balanced manner in protecting the interests of our customers while continuing to provide high-quality banking services,

The concessions offered are dedicated to the borrowers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic who:

  • Have or expect to have repayment difficulties towards TBI Bank in relation with the COVID-19 pandemic and the restrictions imposed with the Law on the measures and activities during the emergency situation, announced by the National Assembly on 13.03.2020 and their consequences.
  • As of 01.03.2020 have serviced their obligations regularly or with a delay of up to 90 days
  • Express explicitly their willingness to take advantage of the proposed concession.

  • The deferral is for a period up to 6 months, which expires no later than 31/12/2020. The final date may vary depending on the date on which the customer has requested the deferral and from the existence of overdue installments at that date.
  • The deferral may cover all amounts due or only principal.
  • Unpaid amounts initially agreed upon shall be repaid on installments after the grace period, in accordance with the applicable deferral mechanism, unless agreed otherwise. 
  • The deferral can be requested the latest by 22.06.2020 and the bank will take a decision up to 30.06.2020
  • The deferral request could include installments overdue before submitting the request but also installments not yet due. If the client is not in delay as of the date of the deferral request, the deferral applies only for the future - in respect of installments not yet due.
  • The client has the opportunity to terminate the granted grace period earlier than the agreed date and to request the preparation of a new repayment plan.
  • The proposed mechanisms for deferral and settlement of obligations apply only for those arising from contracts concluded before 31.03.2020.

The selection of a deferral mechanism is subject to mutual agreement between the parties. 

Mechanism No. 1 - deferral of principal and interest for up to 6 months

  • The amounts due (principal and interest) will be deferred for up to six months, but no later than 31.12.2020.
  • The entire balance of the debt, including the unpaid principal during the grace period is repaid according to a new repayment plan for a period of up to six months longer than the original, depending on the number of deferred payments.
  • To each installment of the repayment plan until the expiry of the loan shall be added an equal part of the unsettled interest during the grace period.

Mechanism No. 2 - deferral of principal for up to 6 months 
•    The principal due is deferred for up to 6 months, but no later than 31.12.2020. 
•    The interest payable for the period shall be paid in accordance with the contract;
•    A new repayment plan is prepared to cover the entire balance of the debt, incl. unpaid principal during the grace period. The new repayment schedule is extended depending on the number of unpaid installments, but by no more than 6 months.

Mechanism No. 3 applicable to revolving products
Revolving of a credit line is allowed even when the installments due or part of them have not been repaid. The repayment of installments is deferred for up to six months, but not later than 31.12.2020.
•    No minimum amount for revolving of the credit limit on a credit card is defined, from 1st of February 2020, for a period of up to 6 months, but no later than 31 December 2020. After the grace period expiration, the minimum revolving amount is re-established and the loan is serviced under the original contract.
•    In up to six months, but not later than 31.12.2020 the due monthly interest on overdrafts is repaid with the unused limit or its payment is deferred for up to six months after the expiration of the grace period.
