What is PSD2 open banking?

According to the European Union Payment Services Directive, PSD 2 Directive (EU) 2015/2366, which entered into force in Bulgaria on March 3, 2018 with the adoption of the Payment Services and Payment Systems Act (PSPS), banks are required to allow third-parties - payment service providers, means to access customers' accounts with their consent through open programming interfaces (APIs).

After fulfilling the regulatory requirements and obtaining a license to provide payment services from the relevant national regulator, you can register your organization on our Developer Portal and connect with the API developed by the Bank. Without a license, you can prepare and test your applications with our sandbox. Information on APIs offered by the Bank can be obtained via the link below:

Test environment based on the standards of the "Berlin Group" and the national standard BISTRA, and available for developers and third party suppliers / TPPs /, providing the opportunity to test access to the API, as of March 14, 2019.
